Shankaran (Shanks) Srinivasan is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive global and diverse experience in technology, strategy, and program execution. He is currently the Senior Director of Engineering and Site Head of Digital & Developer Platform at Visa, where he leads the Digital and Developer Platform engineering team in Bengaluru. He is responsible for the Visa Safe Click and Visa Issuer Tools, working on a massively scalable Visa Token Services Platform and Digital Issuance Platform using forward-looking services such as Blockchain, Behavioral Authentication, and Mobile Cryptography. Shanks is a self-starter and goal-driven individual who enjoys solving business problems. He is passionate about building teams and helping people grow while simplifying complexities. He is an empathetic leader who has gained his leadership skills through extensive global and diverse experience working at both startups, where he founded two, and Fortune 500 companies. Before joining Visa, Shanks worked as an Executive Director at Morgan Stanley, where he served as the Regional Head of TEDRA, Asia Head of CRD, and Regional Head of FACT. He also co-founded Sloan Global Partners while still at school at MIT Sloan, where he analyzed operational challenges in a major Pharma's clinical research unit regarding key drug trials in Western Europe and presented his findings and recommendations to the client's global steering committee. Shanks holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University, an MBA from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering/ Computer Applications from Tennessee Technological University. He also holds a Bachelor of Engineering in EE from Bharathiyar University. He has a tech stack that includes Blockchain, Mobile, and Research Scientist. Shanks is also a mentor at NASSCOM DeepTech and a Diversity & Inclusion Leader.
